Digital Happiness has officially denied allegations that they used generative AI in the development of DreadOut 3. These suspicions arose on social media due to perceived anomalies in promotional artwork, such as anatomical inaccuracies and unusual lighting.
Andre Agam, the company's PR & Marketing Manager, clarified that the artwork was created by their in-house artist, omupied, using a technique called photo bashing—combining multiple photographs into a single image, followed by manual painting over the composite. He emphasized that no generative AI tools were involved in this process.
Further speculation stemmed from a March 2024 podcast where CEO Rachmad Imron mentioned the use of AI tools during pre-production. Andre addressed this by stating that the comment was taken out of context and reiterated that AI was not used in the final production of the game.
Digital Happiness urges the public to avoid making unfounded accusations without solid evidence, as such claims can unfairly discredit the efforts of their creative team.
